[Unlock] WRTP54G Unlocked firmware 3.1.27 ETSI

Dear All,
Reading this forum helped me unlock my vonage-locked wrtp54g router.
Since I know something about hex/linux and stuff, I'd like to give back to the community.
Attached is modded (by me) firmware for wrtp54g, version 3.1.27 ETSI. The original is available on openwrt.org.
I loaded on my wrtp54g and it works fine with viatalk and asterisk.
You can unlock your vonage router using standard procedures mentioned many times on this board and load this firmware.
Enjoy!

Do you have the link on OpenWRT that points to this firmware?

But remember, that this needs to be modified to be loaded on ex-vonage box...

Has anyone tried this v3.1.27 firmware? I had my WRTP54G-ER unlocked with CYT Unlocker and stowed away for a couple of months. Last week, I took it out to connect to the Internet to find out it got provisioned with this v3.1.27 firmware. Since then, I play around with this firmware and noticed of a support for T.38 CoDec for FAX. Has anyone noticed any new features added to this firmware other than T.38 CoDec?

Correction: My WRTP54G-ER was unlocked using the dd hack and not CYT Unlocker.

On my WRTP54G-NA I have the v3.1.24 linksys firmware (v3.1.22 firmware for voice) and it has the T.38 codec included. I have been using it with minimal problems for almost a year now. The only way that I have managed to get it to work without problems is by getting it to reset at least once a week. I've accomplished this by using an appliance timer. From everything that I have read the problems stem from the cache not being cleared often enough, especially for people who use torrents often. So unless this modded firmware resets and/or clears the cache on a regular preset interval the problems will show up within a week of heavy torrenting.

What did you modify on this firmware?

I am just curious. Do you have a real Linksys WRTP54G-NA device? If so, does it show a WRTP54G-NA symbol on the top-right corner? On our unlocked WRTP54G units, the top-right corner shows a WRTP54G-? symbol.

It shows "WRTP54G" on all tabs but Voice, then it shows "wrtp54g?".

I thought a Linksys WRTP54G-NA will have a WRTP54G-NA shown. Are you sure you have a Linksys WRTP54G-NA device? Can you please confirm this from the label on the back of your device to see if it does a Linksys WRTP54G-NA print?

Yes I am positive that it is an unlocked (from the factory) device. I bought it off of voxilla over a year ago at the then full price.

That's interesting because we thought our completely unlocked Linksys/Vonage and/or Linksys WRTP54G-ER units were not able to show a WRTP54G-NA on the top right-hand corner of its VM page. Looks like it is a minor defective logo.

You must have paid around $150 for your WRTP54G-NA device. I don't suppose your WRTP54G-NA device gives you any problems most of us found on our unlocked WRTP54G devices as reported in this forum. Can you check the VM hardware version of your WRTP54G through its VM Information page? Perhaps, we can do something to find out what causes some of the problems we have encountered.

If you read my first post in this thread I share some of the problems I have had with this router. It does have firmware issues that have not been resolved to date. Also when I bought mine the going rate for a vonage locked device was at least $100 plus tax. I paid less than $130 shipped. I think the $20-30 extra I paid was well worth the time i have not spent trying to unlock ect. The documentation was not what it is now a year and a half ago. And this device will never lock back to the original provider as others had problems with in the past.

if that interests you, i paid about 80 bucks for my WRTP54G-NA here in Brazil...anyway, i'm looking for a stable firmware. Don't know if such thing (at least coming from linksys) exists. If only OpenWRT were mature enough for this router...

That's a good deal you got there. Does it show a WRTP54G-NA or WRTP54G-? string on the top right-hand corner of its Voice Module (VM) information page? BTW, I just PMed you and please go to check it out.
