Where Do You Xmas Shop?

Several years ago I pretty much stopped going to the big ole malls and started doing most of my shopping online. When I can't find something interesting online, I go shopping locally in San Clemente in the fun interesting stores they have on Del Mar. I have done most of my shopping at Amazon.com! What about you?

See's Candies store in RC
Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in RC
The Tobacco Barn in El Toro for cigars

I hate malls and avoid them at all costs.

I'm glad to see you supporting local business down in my old home turf Miz B.

Do what?

-- edit --

Oh, I see. From Thanksgiving until mid-January I never leave my place. The wifey does the shopping all year-round -- she's crazy like that.

Because the fam is back east, I do most of my shopping online and just have it shipped to them. But what I dont buy online, I buy on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore (my hood) or over in the 4th street funky shops or on Broadway.

Belmont shore shops have changed quite a bit haven't they? When I lived on Naples Island no chains except The Gap were on 2nd street.

I rediscovered LL Bean online today.

I won't even dignify that by following the link...it is obviously out-of-touch with reality, if it goes against the classic "widgets" model.

Here's a link that I find both more informative and up-to-date: »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fr ··· ks...you can also follow the embedded links for more information.

Some people may not think so, but I consider Wikipedia to be one of the most authoritative sources around these days...

Okay, i have some OCD going and I followed your link...

...amazing, it described /defined "passe" and didn't address the question in the broad sense of its context, which is what I hoped you would respond too...

Refer to my links to define what I mean with respect to an inquiry...the body and intent of the origin, not just the out-of-context definition of one word in the query...

I have no "real" answer. Simply opinion.

I would imagine that term, in such context, is generally associated as peculiar to a particular individual and affected by personal views, bias or similar experience. I doubt if one could plausibly make an argument that irrefutably supports...or dismisses preference trends in popular culture.

Tiki's Figgy Pudding

Whiz 1 pkg Fig Newtons in a processor or dice to fine chop.
Add a hand (bunch) of ripe bananas, either sliced thin or whizzed with the cookies.
Whip one pint of heavy cream, then fold into above.

Let sit 24 hours in icebox before serving.

Can't beat Julian pies!!! We drive up there a couple/three times a year or so just for some really fresh ones. We also get some fresh squeezed cider, assorted jams and such.
