Re: Pets for Arena

It depends on what you want to achieve with your pet. But lets back track a tad, I sense some confusion with training points and pet skills.

Regardless of when I tame a pet, their stats will be the same and will have the same amount of training points. Regardless if I tame a pet at level 1 and take him to 70, or if I tame a level 70 pet. Your pet gains loyalty as you feed and fight with it. Loyalty level determines how many training points your pet has.

Here is a cut and paste from a previous thread I did about training points:

Your pet has two levels, loyalty, and just normal "level."

Max loyalty level is 6, max pet level is 70.

For this X = pet level.

At loyalty level 1, your pet has 0 available training points.

At loyalty level 2, your pet has X * 1 training points available.

At loyalty level 3, X * 2 TP available.

Level 4, X * 3.

Level 5, X * 4.

Level 6, X * 5.

So at level 70 and loyalty level 6, your pet has 70 * 5 = 350 TP. At level 45 and loyalty level 3, you would have 45 * 2 = 90 TP available to train with.

Now when training abilities, say with your Stamina rank 7 available for 100 TP. You indeed did only "pay" 25 TP to go from 6 to 7. One thing you may have or have not noticed is that this skills also have a level requirement. You can't just give a level 50 pet the highest rank armor or stamina just because you had enough points. Those both require level 70 to train them. So my guess there is your pet maybe wasn't level 42 maybe when you tried to train rank 7?

Second, ranks do not stack. Training rank 11 armor right off the bat will net you the same armor for the same TP cost as if you bought rank 1 through 11.

How lucky am I to have known someone who is so hard to say good-bye to.
