Re: Pets for Arena To continue, a pet for arena can be used for several things, which could change what you pick (DPS or Utility).
Many people suggest the use of a scorpid for its poison to mask your viper sting. Not a bad idea, works fairly well especially if you spec improved stings which further helps reduce the chance the dispeller will remove your sting.
As far as what you should use, most people will probably say one of the following:
Scorpid
Ravager
Cat
If you have lots of mana drain in your group and won't be heavily relied on to supplement it, I'd probably go cat or ravager for the higher DPS and better focus dumps which helps interrupt casters better. Otherwise I'd go scorpid.
The scorpid does give the advantage like mentioned above of helping mask stings and your teammate's DoTs, but doesn't have the DPS and even with cobra reflexes won't be as annoying to a caster as far as interrupts unlike a cat or ravager who has the instant cast focus dump plus hasten'd attack speed with cobra reflexes.
I personally use a scorpid, but masking my viper sting is part of our strategy on my 3v3 team.
