[Connectivity] Internet Packetloss / Latency, Phone breaking up,

Since roughly 3 days ago I've had nothing but problems. The phone is crackling and people can't hear me because I keep breaking up. The internet can take minutes to load a simple web page like google so forget about my online gaming addiction. The TV will pixelate and go out. Can barely connect to the In Demand service.

I had a tech out and he thinks it's a line problem. I agree with him but that was 2 days ago. It shouldn't be taking this long.

I live in an APT and this is the only time I've ever had a problem with the service where I've called. Usually whatever happens will come back shortly and I can live with that. But now, my kids have problems watching Noggin, I can barely check email or surf, and the wife is getting cranky.

I'll copy/paste my modem status page. It is an ARRIS.

Those particular line stats look quite good, actually. Is it an intermittent problem? If so, when it's behaving poorly or dropping you, collect those stats again and post them here.

Yeah, I have Comcast in Norther California and it has been up and down for weeks. Apparently, the DNS servers are way slow. You can try and change your DNS servers in your routers.

I called tech. support and they would not believe me because every time I called them things were fine. I am running a Network Checker tool that I found on
»www.connectionchecker.com and I'm now logging the up/down times so I can prove to them their up-time is not quite as good as it should be.

What's worse is the my wife works from home and she can't get work done with these problems. Comcast has been really good though, up until a few weeks ago. You are not the only one.

It is always like this. At night, though, the problem seems escalated.

For instance, this post took a 1 minute 25 seconds (timed by my watch) to appear after I hit "I'm Feeling Lucky".

Brutal.

Can you post a tracert to dslreports.com and a few other sites (www.google.com, www.yahoo.com)? Don't worry, we'll wait patiently

It is not DNS. It is horrific packetloss / latency as well as phone & TV problems. When I called Comcast the lady on the phone was amazed I was able to call because it was so bad trying to talk to her.

It all points to the return BUT my levels look great.

I'll grab that tool and at least keep a record.

It could be the reverse route, too. I can run a trace to your IP if you want, just IM me your current IP.

Whatever it's worth, your issue may not be the same issue as is the O.P.'s. How can a DNS issue affect their CDV service ?

You really should post your issue in a thread of your own..

Didn't see MrJingles most recent post.

Advice still applies...
