i was wondering does anyone know of any mod that will display boss strategies? i have been looking but no luck.

i know there are sites i can search for but i would rather not have a browser open while i play.

that would be an awsome addon. one that you could access when you get to a boss that tells ya a strategy and a little about them. mob info is kind of vague on bosses...

No addon I know of will do this. I think you'd be better off going to wowwiki or bosskillers, and printing out the strategies you find there.

To succeed in the end game raids it's pretty vital you know your strategies in advance, and it's important that everyone spends at least 5 minutes reading the strategy you pick.

I would also recommend mandating 3 addons.

1/Ora 2 or CT Raid.
2/Bigwigs or Deadly Boss Mods.
3/Omen.

But an addon to give you strats while you're raiding or in an instance? Well if you do find one I'd be very interested.

One note on Deadly boss mod and bigwigs, learn to know the discrepancy on the timers. Both of these addons are pretty close at estimating when a certain boss ability will trigger, but they are not dead on. You still need to learn an encounter.

Also as a warning, check your addons on something non-important to the guild. I went in to help tank kara for some people, and my bigwigs went on a complete fritz, to a point where it locked up all of my actionbars, and hotkeys, you can imagine how that tanking went

Very true - totally agree. But even so I still regard having one of these as vital to success in a raid, because even if the timing is off, the warnings are more often early than late.

Yes I have seen players thrown to the tanks as Bigwigs warned a shatter was coming soon, yes I have seen flamewreaths appear a second or two before the warning.

But it must be incredibly complex and time consuming to keep up with Blizzard and all their changes, so I'm not complaining. All I know is without one or the other we'd be fighting blind and that would be worse.

99% of the timers on BW/DBM are just when the ability is off cooldown, not when he is actually going to use the ability. Just tell people to be prepared cause the ability is off cooldown, dont tell them "ok ability x is being used exactly right now"

Crap, gone thru my excel sheet with list of addons and can't recall the name now.

It was an addon I used in the good ol C'thun days which showed a picture of the instance and a column with basic strats anyone could download and read without having to alt-tab. I might just make an addon like that...

Bigwigs and DBM both read off triggered events and the addon makes an estimate off that. There is always the lag server side which will cause these timers to go off sync by just a few seconds. Some bosses have huge windows between their abilities cooldown.

Sorry guys, I usually don't fail with keeping up with addons

========

Can try this addon out. I'll be playing around with it myself. Not as elegant as one would imagine but its better than having tons of macros.
