ELNK vs RR

Opinions please.

ELNK via RR backbone costs $39.95 in my area. Download of 6Mb, upload of 400ish kbps.

RR is $29.95 with 10Mb down and 1Mb up.

I was told by a sales person that they will renew it every six months for $29.95 - just have to call them and request it.

I have been told a lot of things by salesmen, not all of them always panned out. If you feel comfortable about that then go for RR, the prices for RR and EL are relatively the same anyways, so it shouldnt be to much of an issue.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong since I'm via Comcast, but at least with them, no matter what speed EL advertises, I get whatever the standard Comcast speed is, which I believe is higher.

I think you would get that 10 Mb with EL as well.

Why not?

ELNK and RR both told me that their speeds are different. I was always under the assumption that the speeds were the same too. Not true in my area.

You must be getting it through Comcast? Earthlink through Time Warner is the same as RR's speeds for the same price.
