Distance from a DSLAM? How can I know?

Hi, everybody!

My contract with sympatico is about to expire and I thought of switching either to Colba.net's 24mb/s or CIA's 7mb/s. My friend(he lives just near me) has the full speed of the 7mb/s(700KB/s) from CIA, and as a sympatico subscriber, I've been getting the full 550KB/s. How can I know the distance from me to my DSLAM so maybe I could get the full 24mb/s(... or at least 20) from colba.

First, you'll get the same speeds from other DSL providers.

For Colba, you'll have to contact them directly to get an answer on your speeds with them.

call the bell high speed centre 1 888 590 2375

if you get the right agent they sync up the rest of the people on your street using dsl and tell you what sort of speeds your getting that will give you the best idea of what you should expect
