| Bad Rep The problem is the heavy use of contractors.
Contractor are paid by the job so more jobs completed bigger pay check.
Employees can take the time to fix it right the first time. Taking time takes money out of contractors pockets
Contractors are cheaper than employees so they are used. |

How many of those calls are repeats because of the poor service they received on the first call? I will bet if they actually took care of the issue the first time they would see a huge decrease in that 250 million calls a year number. |

 | reply to hazezilla That's one of the reasons I got out of the cable industry. I was sick and tired of fixing others mistakes.
On the side, I had excellent data service with Comcast when I lived in Maryland, but when I moved out of the state, Comcast had no record that I had purchased my own modem at Bestbuy, and they wanted it back |

Comm TechReaperPremium join:2005-06-28 White Lake, MI | reply to hazezilla Contractors are not the problem I have worked for contract companies for 7 years now and the work I see done by in house is far below spec. Granted there are bad apples both in house and outhouse but in my experience the in house is worse. Contractors always get a bad name and thats bullsh*t. So HEAVY use of contractors are not the problem. |
