Wake up, Bell, show some responsibility

Why didn't the cellphone service detect excessive usage, averaging about $100 per hour, on that $10/month plan? Do they not have credit limits on their accounts? Oh, wait, this is a telephone company.

There is a reason why our family cellphones are pay & talk. Too much use, cellphone stops. Much safer.

Good point. If the providers seriously want to collect on a $10 per month contract for overages, shouldn't they send a notice when the bill reaches $100? It's not like they have no way of contacting him, plus they could get another $.20 for receiving a text message notification. It's an all margin product, cut a kid a break and get some good publicity.
