Rain+wind and DSL don't mix

We had a little rain today and yesterday. DSL service cuts out on average every 4-5 minutes. Recorded voice msg on tech support line says rolling blackouts are affecting DSL service (no rolling blackouts in our area of town though, electric service is fine and dandy). Phone service working fine. Cable too. Can't the DSL guys siphon some electricity from the phone side? No eta when service will be back to normal in their message. Can't find system status on their web site. Any one know the url?

The ironic thing is the DSL was pretty much solid in our area during the heavy downpours last week when a flood alert was issued for Oahu.
