Not bizarre at all. A lot of sites and routers turn off ICMP ping responders. The primary reason is to allocate maximum server and / or router resources to the job they're supposed to do and also to eliminate denial of service attacks from hackers. |

| Hi,
I am on Rogers. I had some latency issues yesterday but are since resolved.
To test the net, I had pinged a few sites.
I cannot however ping www.rogers.com. The request times out. As I on the Rogers network, isn't this bizarre?
Does this make sense?
Thanks. |
