By the same token Comcast had nothing to do with a tech drilling into a gas line. It was the own techs poor planning and judgement. As a person who makes mistakes. But the tech didnt get the PR, his company did. Along with the myriad of other articles damming Comcast. So a group of techs do something good.. and its no longer a reflection on the company but on the individual. How f#%$ing typical. What a sad world most people live in. Techs drilling holes to get their jobs done is part of their job, saving lives is not part of their job. -- People pray to God because they're told to. |

As for a previous statement, while I agree that Comcast sometimes takes needless criticism (and I hate comcast so do not think I am standing up for them), in this case, it had nothing to do with the company other then their decision (a good one by the looks of it) to hire people who would risk their own lives to help others. It stops there, however as for the guys drilling into a gas line, that was done while performing a task assigned to them/him/her by corporate.
So yes, Comcast should take a beating for the last statement, as for the saving of lives, the most they should be able to do is maybe is milk the fact they hire selfless emplyees who are willing to help out despite the dangers to themselves, and thats it. |

What i was getting at was that it is not in the job description of cable employees to save lives. And yes, it is an unwritten rule that everyone should try to save a life when one is in danger if it is at all possible. -- People pray to God because they're told to. |

It is part of the job...that is why every tech is annually recertified in CPR and basic first aid. |
