If you're serious about gaming, get a wire! If you're already wired, maybe the wire is damaged, or your ethernet equipment at either (PC or router) end is damaged. Can you run a telnet session on your router? Try ping from there.<br><br>Like the other posters have said, ping time is not related to bandwidth (well, unless you've congested your connection with P2P, or streaming movies at the same time).<br><br>Regardless of all these other issues, where is your game server located? The USA is about 20,000km from here. Light travels at 3x10^8 m/s, so fastest signal at the surface is 2x10^4x10^3 / 3x10^8 = 2/3x10^-1 = 66ms. Electrical signals travel slower than this ideal. Every router and repeater briefly 'stops' your signal too.<br><br>Having played a lot of Tremulous online, I think I'm lucky when I get a 250ms ping to a USA server. ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/831006"><b>p4r4g0n</b></A> : FYI for OP from someone who used to play AA -<br><br>ping times to US servers at best high 200+ to 300+<br>ping times to Europe is usually 300+ to 400+<br><br>Ping (also known as latency) is affected by line quality and distance. Even if you have very good quality connection, you will still see 3 digit pings.<br><br>If you get ping times higher than this, you have a problem somewhere between your computer and the server - report to TMNet.<br><br>If you get ping times substantially lower than this you are either -<br>1. playing on a LAN;<br>2. playing on a server located in Malaysia or maybe Singapore; or<br>3. physically some place closer to the server than Malaysia :P<br><br>If you want sub-100 pings, play on a local server or on LAN. Otherwise, migrate to US or Europe :D]]></description>

I should get the ping around 20 to 40. All my friend have a good ping except me! Does anyone have a same problem with me? I even port forward it and let my firewall off.
