15/15 for business available!!!

I just did my weekly check for the new speeds for business FiOS, and 15/15 is now available! $99.99/mo (without static IP). So $40/mo more. Gonna call in a few to see if I can order it! Woohoo!

Do you get an SLA with the business FIOS plans? Or are you just paying an extra $40 for inbound port 80? I could see someone paying the extra $ for a static IP and an SLA...

No SLA, just the ability to run servers and yes, port 80 is unblocked. I'm not sure if they block port 80 on dynamic business accounts or not.

Apples-to-apples, the residential 15/15 is $65/mo with a 2year, and $100/mo for business. $35/mo more for business support I guess, though without an SLA who knows what that really means. I think it's more of a gimmick to get small businesses to use it, but who knows.

Well, maybe not. The rep on the phone still only has the old packages listed:

5/5
15/2
30/5

She has me on hold, though. Hopefully it's just so new that it hasn't hit their automated system yet. *crosses fingers*

LOL she came back and said "well, apparently you know more than I do!" and confirmed 15/15 with 1 static for $139.99/mo.

Another case of the group that maintains the site pushing out future information, maybe? »new FIOS speeds in VA!!

In your experience, is unblocked 80 worth the extra $35 when you could (against the TOS) host a server on 8080?

Well, yes I want a static IP and proper MX/A records setup so I can run a mail server. And I use this connection for VPN'ing into work, so I prefer "business support", even if there's no SLA. I have never had to call them, fortunately, but I would hope they're more responsive and have faster turnaround.

Working on that now...my laptop is on wifi, so I need to install java on my FreeBSD box. Once that's installed, I'll post up some speed tests. I did a few manual wget's against my web server from some friends' colos, and I only got around 750-800 KB/s. But that may be a limitation on their end.

Yikes, not good at all from here (Delaware):

running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 2.53Mb/s
running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 10.85Mb/s

SWEET! Too bad I ditched by business service last month because of the unavailable speeds I might switch back over if they offer Fios TV on the business side. Does anyone have Two ONT's installed? One for residential TV, and one for Business fios? Do they charge you additional for the extra ONT?

FYI: I've posed the speeds available in my area. THey don't show prices for static IPs

Jason1010 -- I have both Business FiOS Internet and Residential FiOS TV services with 2 ONTs. I can assure you that it is possible.. but you will need to have a lot of patience and be willing to be the "Project Manager" for the whole thing from start-to-finish.

Good luck!

I had dynamic ip business fios before I had static, and they do in fact block port 80,443 and 25 with a dynamic bussiness IP.

They will never have TV on business, its a whole different animal from the content prospective, Think for example sports programming for a sports bar ( business ) they get charged based on seating capacity, most programming for business is this way and VZ is not setup billing wise to deal with this.

Ditto, and yes it takes a lot of perseverance, but if you stick with them and follow up, it'll happen

Just had someone pull a 64MB file from my web server. They got an average of 1711 kB/s

deblin -- Kudos for keeping on top of Verizon regarding the 15/15 service. I'm considering going after that, myself!

Bad down speeds from this test server, it paused for a good 5-6 seconds in the middle of the downstream test, not sure why:

And here's another, slightly lower on the upstream side:

Overall, very happy!
