| Effort To Scuttle Telecom Immunity Push Fails?? - not yet This one attempt failed. But this is only the beginning of the fight to get immunity for the telcos. The House didn't pass a FISA bill with immunity in it. And the Senate still has to consider a competing bill and amendments before the Senate can pass a FISA bill with immunity. And even then, if the Senate ultimately passes immunity it has to go to a Senate/House joint committee for negotiations and then be passed again by both House and Senate. And this all has to happen before February, when the FISA authorization has to renewed or be sunsetted.
So a lot of people are getting their panties in a knot prematurely.
