| Those having probs with Ventrilo I just found out that, ventrilo uses the same port as file sharing programs, and we all know bell throttle file sharing programs.
Many ppl are complaining about it on the ventrilo forums, and the mods say to tell your isp to stop flagging ventilo, which wont happen cause its a file sharing port.
Maybe with enough ppl complaining vent devs will let us use the old vent or fix the issue.
I posted this here cause i saw a few topics about vent not working on bell at certain times.

| Forgot to add that my vent problems start at 5pm est,
up to 20,000+ ping..
They can hear me fine, i cant make out what there saying. |

Thats not something that Ventrilo should be fixing, it is something Bell should be fixing. It is an issue with Bell and their setup of their traffic management, not with Ventrilo.

| No. It's an issue with ventrilo. The old Vent worked fine. This new one doesn't work . I pay for two Vent servers and I can't use them. |

kudos:16 | So? A server program should be able to use whatever port it wants (although is should probably stay above 1024). It is *NOT* the Ventrilo devs problem to worry about what ports an ISP may or may not be throttling.
If they want to use a different port, it is up to the ISP to make sure they provide unfettered access to it. The fact that the old version worked because it didn't use a port Bell throttles is irrelevant.
However, the issue is already being resolved; Deadpool is working on a fix to this issue. |

I've got the same problem. I had a hunch it was cause of Sympatico as it usually happens during peak hours. It's been alright recently though so maybe they got around to fixing it? |

seems that way, now if they would stop screwing around with my WOW i would be fine. |

| Interesting. I have a feeling they've broken it again as it runs fine all day but right around 4pm-10pm I start pinging really high...couldn't be that much of a coincidence. |
