Re: Vonage outage?

The biggest problem with this outage was not the "no dial tone" It has been the abysmal customer service.

No dial tone. That is still all they claim. There were many of us that had no difficulty with dial tone but recieved HUNDREDS of phantom calls apparently an endless loop of repeates of calls made earlier in the day.

Vonage has yet to officially accept that it occured.
After fighting my way up the chain to an executive response team, the only thing I got in e-mail was a note that "we have heard reports of ...."

How can your switches make thousands of outbound calls and you not know about it?

That's what puzzled me. I had a dial-tone the whole time. What I couldn't do is receive a call; phone would ring, then nothing.

Then, the phantom calls started Saturday morning.

I never NOT had a dialtone--that wasn't the problem at all. I could even MAKE calls fine.

I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
