Website Pricing Screwup - Again

Once again, the trained chimps at VZ have screwed up the pricing table on their residential FIOS pricing grid. Note the great deal on the 20/20 package. (hint: same price as 20/5) In the top part of the grid, they don't even list the monthly prices (as they do in the lower half month-to-month).

I posted a few weeks back about another screwup when they first offered 20/20 symmetrical service-- two different prices were listed (64.99, 69.99). I spoke with two VZ phone reps + a chat rep, and all 3 of them had no clue which was right. One said to assume higher, the other 2 said it was lower (which was the wrong answer).

JEEZ... how hard could it be for them to get this page right???

Apparently pretty hard. Since they can't handle dynamic pages, maybe they should do circa 1993 internet image hotspot maps to static web pages.

You are now chatting with 'Julie'
you: oh boy!
Julie: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. How can I help you experience the cutting-edge technology of FiOS?
you: Hi there. Before I order, I would like to know some detail on the pricing. The Monthly Fee section reads "54.99 (months 2-7)" but, the fine print at the bottom of the page says it's $59.99....so which is it?
Julie: When you line is pre-qualify, you will be presented with the packages, prices that are available to you.
Julie: So you will get the only rates that are mentioned to you after you check the availability for FiOS Internet services.
you: I understand this, so I'm already on the page after entering my address and passing the qualification.
you: Even still, there's the mentioned discrepency
you: Can you clarify?
Julie: Do you have Verizon as your home telephone service (landline) provider?
you: No, I do not have a landline. Just a Verizon Cell Phone.
Julie: As you don't have the Verizon phone line there would be a difference of $ 5 in the price.
you: Okay, so then which would I pay?
Julie: You will get the total prices with complete details on the step 4 of your order process which is the "Customer Details" page before you submit your order.
you: Okay, I am there now; it says $54.99 at the top and $59.99 in the fine print. I'm confused. You see, I only make $55.00 at my job, until my promotion and if this is really $59.99, then I'm going to be in real trouble. I hope you can tell me precisely with digits the monatary value I will pay at XXX South Xxxx Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15232 Apartment 2 for months 2-7. Maybe you should put that address into the Web site and see the conflicting information yourself.
Julie: Just a moment please.
Julie: Sorry I am not able to check that, I am facing some technical error on the order page.
Julie: I would suggest you to call in Verizon Business office for that.
you: What sort of error? Maybe I can provide technical assistance for you.
Julie: Please call your Verizon local business office. The number can be found on your telephone bill or you can visit the Contact Us page on our website to find the number in your area.
Julie: »www22.verizon.com/CustomerSuppor···s/Index/
you: How do I do that? I don't have a working phone at the moment. I thought for sure you could help me.
Julie: You can from any phone, You can call from your office also.
Julie: Is there anything else I can help you with?
you: My office does not permit outbound calls. Do you think I could call from your house?
you: I might really start to cry if I can't get FiOS and understand this pricing.
Julie: I don't have information why you are getting the different price.
Julie: If you want you can try to proceed ahead after some time.
Julie: Is there anything else I can help you with?
you: No thank you. I need to call grandma now...err, I mean...about that phone thingy.

Your chat session has been terminated by the Verizon FiOS chat representative.

This just never gets old (X's to protect me'z-self).

How about one more before I head home for the day? I mean why not, the $59.99 is not even a factor to this chick.

We are routing you to a chat representative. Thank you for contacting Verizon FiOS. Your average wait time is 28 seconds.
You are now chatting with 'Kay'
Kay: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. How can I help you experience the cutting-edge technology of FiOS?
you: Hi Kay! All set to order, just wanted to know what, if any, are the one-time fees for FiOS service?
Kay: I will be happy to help you with that.
Kay: A one-time $19.99 activation charge will apply for the Internet.
you: That's unfortunate. Any installation fees? And why does the fine print say $59.99 for the service, whereas the main section, even after qualification says service is $54.99. I'm worried.
Kay: The installation fee is free when ordered on line.
Kay: Where are you seeing say $59.99 for the service, whereas the main section, even after qualification says service is $54.99. ?
you: After I enter my address for qualification, I select the package, just before I submit to order, it says in the main section "$54.99" and just to read the small fine print at the bottom, I see $59.99
you: Do you want to enter my address to see it?
you: ?
you: Are you with me?
Kay: If you are ordering the 15Mbps 'Faster speed' months 2 through 7 will be $44.99, starting at month 8 the monthly charge will be $54.99 per month.
you: Oh wow that's great!
you: But, why do you say this? I'm actually already a customer and I'm being charged $54.99 during month's 2-7. Do you think your information is wrong?
Kay: Are you ready to begin your online order?
you: Because, if it is not, I'm going to start cry.
Kay: When you order online the Monthly charge for our 15Mbps speed is $54.99 with an annual agreement.
Kay: You will get the first month free and a $10 per month discount on months 2 through 7.
you: Okay! But, you just restated whta you had previously said. Can you tell me why I'm getting charged $54.99 instead of $44.99?
Kay: The price is $54.99 before the $10 per month discount is deducted.
you: Yes, that would be a statement of fact. So, why am I not charged $44.99?
Kay: Again. The months 2 through 7 will be $44.99 per month. Starting at month 8 through 12 or 24 the $10 discount will not apply. Therefore the monthly charge per month will be $54.99 per month.
you: I understand this. Currently, this is the 3rd month in my contract. I am being charged $54.99. This amount would be only applicable for months 8-12, according to your mega cool theory. However, I'm in tears right now, over my bill, seeing that I'm NOT getting charged $44.99, for this 3rd month, as you said I would. Please tell me why this is so?
Kay: For your convenience, Verizon has a specialized group to handle all of your billing questions. Please contact them at (888) 553-1555.
you: Oh goodie! Thank you, just remember "Every kiss begins with YOU!" zing.
