Broken promise aside, their HD lineup is far more impressive than Comcast's for a much better price. I will be calling this week to change my service over.
Is their pricing actually better? I haven't checked cable rates lately. I know DirecTV has more HD channels, but I'm also paying (what I feel) is too much for too much crap. I'm at $73 a month, with no premium or sports channels.
Their pricing is competitive and is a little better than Comcast. When it comes to HD though, I highly recommend Directv. I signed a new 2 year contract with them just on the fact that they have the most HD and seem committed to be the HD leader. We will see if they are still the leader 2 years from now.

Oh I'm still a fan of their service. Just not so much the price. This latest $5.99 "extra" package I now have to subscribe to in order to continue receiving the same channels really ticked me off. I know it's just $6, this is a case of pure principle for me.

Yea, I am not the biggest fan of that either. However, I subscribed to it after I saw how much Comcast was charging for their "HD" package.

I wonder if they are trying to match what Dish network is charging. Their HD package was $20 a month a couple months ago.
