The Verizon phone/dsl person I talked to when ordering had good information on the costs of each type of their service in my area. It's strange that they'd use one set of support/sales people for copper lines and another for FIOS. Yes, I've done this. Although, I didn't get the monthly rate reduce, the CSR just credited my account for X dollars times Y months. I still have $105.00 credit on my account. Essentially, I had a credit for a total 5 months of FiOS 15/2Mbps, still about two more to go!
