New $49.95 double play dealAnyone see the commercials for the Comcast double play deal for $49.95 a month? It's just Comcast HSI and CDV.
Sounds like one heck of a deal for those of us in HD handicapped systems. We can get DirecTV to fulfill our HD needs and still have HSI and CDV in a nicely priced bundle from Comcast. Their HSI and CDV service is great in this area.
Anyone have any details on this package?
My Triple Play Platinum package is up in March 2008. That gives Comcast some time to get the HD ball moving in my area, but if they don't, D* with the double play sounds great. |

it includes their lower speed internet 768/384 and with unlimited local calling with 5cpm for toll and LD calls with all the same features as the unlimited plan but voicemail is not included. I think it is extra cost if you want it. |

When I called up (Phila office) last week, they said it was $49.95 for 6 months, the up to $82.90/month after that (which sounded like $42.95 for HSI and $39.95 for voice). They said it would be a onetime $29.95 installation/activation fee for the voice modem, and $3/month rental for it. Supposedly they wouldn't touch my existing owned modem.
I do remember the commercial saying "$49.95 forever", so maybe there is an alternate plan with the forever cost, but with slower internet speeds.

Do you realize that, as crappy as DSL is... AT&T POTS unlimited = $39.99 (+$4.95 for Canada) and DSL 768 = $14.95 $39.99 + $14.95 = $54.94 for unlimited local/ld + 768 kbps DSL. |

We made the front page!
Anyway...
What's the point of CDV service if it's not unlimited calls to anywhere in the US? Might as well have Verizon landline and not worry about cable outages or an eMTA equipment if that's all you want. |

Something doesn't sound right about this. The 768/384kbs tier is an economy tier that costs $24.95 per month. If this is true then the VOIP costs $57.95 per month to reach $82.90. This has to be for thier standard internet speed at least after the year is up.
