We have a 1.5mb connection here, and in the day it runs very well, we get full speed. But in the evenings, normally around 5pm it seams like something just clicks, the latency doubles and we lose speed. Then normally around 10pm it goes back to normal.
I normally play some online games, and I normally get 50m/s latency, but then again once it clicks I get 50m/x for one second then 98m/s for a few seconds, then back to 50m/s and so on. On really bad nights I get 100m/s+ all the time until 10pm when I go back to a flat 50m/s.
I have checked for firewalls, adware, ect, and everything looks good. Every phone in the house is filtered.
Is there any electronic devices that may interfere with the DSL connection, or is this fully on centurytel's end?

Heflin, AL | This problem has continued to get worse despite upgrading to 6mb. Now ping to everything goes over 300ms at around 8pm. |

Don't complain.My ping is Never below 150ms and most of the time it is around 250ms or more.Just tested now just before posting and it was 348ms to New York from Michigan.To add i have the 1500/256 deal which is the best i can get. |

I was having ping problems ealier today and my speed was around 400 Kbps down but everything is going well now (I'm on the 1500/256 plan)

I had the same issue last night. My dload speed reduced to 128K and stayed that way until this morning. I checked my DSL modem diagnostics and I have had no resynchs in about 35 days. usually a resynch would denote a problem on the loop side (between CO and me) of the network. I highly suspect there is some type of congestion issue. |
