Anyone have the instructions that come with voice mail like, how to retrieve messages when away from home? etc, etc...
Maybe I'm not looking in the right place but the Cox site is very lacking with info.
Edit: Also, when I set up voice mail notification to a e-mail address, the Cox site tells me that the e-mail address I submitted is invalid, the same Cox e-mail address I use for my regular e-mail that works perfectly fine! |

Are you able to login to phonetools? if you can you can listen to your voicemail that way for free. |

Man, this voice mail notification thing offered by Cox is a joke!! Online setup just doesn't work so I called customer support. They were supposed to set this up for me and it still doesn't work!!
Has anyone had any luck with this feature? |

2 edits | when did you call? how long did you wait for it to change before checking?

I tried setting it up with my primary e-mail address with Cox.net and I got the "invalid address entered" message as you see above. Same results with my Gmail address.
I called customer support yesterday and spoke with them again this morning, a nice guy in Atlanta and seemed to know what he was doing. He said he was going to configure it for me. And he couldn't give me an explanation on why the online menu was not working for me. Unfortunately they do not leave call back numbers. |
|
 | why did you talk to someone in Atlanta instead of a local tech?
here's a link to try

1 edit | well you don't live in Atlanta, so you need to call your local cox office. Did you try calling your own number to see if your voicemal even works? |

I'm trying to get this e-mail notification of voice mail to work. Then what you are saying is that calling the toll free customer support number listed on the Cox website is a waste of time? |
|
 | if you have a local office that you can call that would be better then calling Atlanta since they would have to contact someone in the local office.
yes calling atlanta for a problem that should be handled by a local tech is a waste of time. |

Wrong.... Atlanta is the headquarters for every system...
Every area must refer to Atlanta to fix certain problems...
Atlanta can do everything the local system can do PLUS more!!!! |

2 edits | but why doesn't the OP want to start at the local level first?
is this a local call for you (225) 615-1000?
you might get a faster response |

Calls may roll to ATL due to call volume etc... |

 | he said he talked to a guy in Atlanta, but he really didn't didn't say who started the call, my response was why he was calling Atlanta when he should start at the local level first. He said he called the tollfree number, when there is none except for Atlanta, so he must have known he was calling the Atlanta number. |

this is what he said Exactly my Point, They called him..
The 800 Atlanta number is customer relations... Completely different than tech support. If you call the number with a tech question they will transfer you to local office...
I'm done arguing with you AJ |
|
 | well AZ I don't see you offering help like I am. You are just arguing with me.
this what I should have quoted. I called customer support yesterday and spoke with them again this morning, a nice guy in Atlanta and seemed to know what he was doing. He said he was going to configure it for me. And he couldn't give me an explanation on why the online menu was not working for me. Unfortunately they do not leave call back numbers.
