Best free online file storage/sync?

I am looking for a free online file storage+sync service...

I just want to save some small files I come across at work and I want them to sync to home PC's HD (and preferably also so I could access them online...)

I have seen a number of companies offering 1GB or so of storage space...

Something that is like xdrive.com...

Thank you all...

Why not use an existing spare PC and setup a Windows Home Server. You can access it remotely via either a web based interface ( http: address) or a SSL link ( https: address). Additionally there is a Web Folder add-in to get files to/from the WHS.

The upside is you control the server and data and don't need to depend on a third-party. The obvious downside it costs a few $$$$ to purchase the software so it does not meet your free requirement...

You could also simply setup a VPN or SSH server on one of your home PCs for secure remote file access. SSL-Explorer, OpenVPN and/or copSSH (a free windows SSH server installer package) with either the Tunnelier or WinSCP SSH clients would all work. All of those options are free...

This outfit is pretty good. They have free and pay version. I have used both and currently am using the pay-fer use and I forgot why. Oh I remember that way people I send lings to don't have to do the wait thing to get their file.

AOL Xdrive isn't bad either. Also tiered, free and pay levels available.

EDIT: Check that, didn't see you mentioned Xdrive in your OP. Ah well, for me it does the job when I really need to store something on the internet.

1GB USB thumb drive, about twenty bucks. For the purpose of moving bits between home and work, that seems a lot more convenient.

Maybe this is outdated, but I have read xdrive is one of the few online storage sites that does not encypt your data, leaving it vulnerable.

Beware. It sounds like they deactivate your account if you do not login for 30 days.
