It could not happen to a better company. It was a lousy business plan. The could have went the cheep dial up route for customers who do not want broadband or as a back up or gone into web and account hosting provide a email web host service independent of broadband providers. Instead Earthlink went on a campaign of intrusion on private telocs property and when the courts shot that down a la Brand X, Earthlink thought could make it on the government muni-wifi dole.

| Earthlink does have a cheap dial-up service its called PeoplePC. They bought them several years ago.
Telco property isnt private. just some areas they weren't granted access to.
Sounds like someone got the shitty end of the deal with Elink though. |
