1 edit | Changing light switch to a switch with timer or sensor We have inside light switches that control our exterior lighting - flood lights, lights on the outside of the garage and lights for the front door.
How may I go about adding timers or sensors on those lights to come on when it becomes dark and turn off when it becomes day time?
I am not an electrician but would tinker with proper and thorough direction. Also, the garage lights are on a 4-switch panel that has a light switch for the laundry room and the garage (inside). -- The only place where Success comes before Work is in the dictionary. |

I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but what I'm not sure about is that what you heard isn't exactly what I meant. |

| reply to fatmanskinny I got a photocell / motion sensor lights at home depot for pretty cheap. I wired only two units to various exterior lights. It turns on at dusk and programmable to run for X hours. It has a dimmer controlled by the motion sensor. I got tired of timers and having to program. This I setup 5 or 6 years ago and I've never had to think about it. I replaced the timer with a normal switch. -- Am Heimcomputer sitz' ich hier, und programmier' die Zukunft mir |
