You loaded Earthlink's bloatware!? What for! I guess you noobs don't know that you don't even need any of it. You actually needed tech support for a simple TCP/IP connection? Let me guess, you don't even know how to find your SMTP server, much less where your homepage and FTP is.
I don't know what the deal is with all the Earthlink hatred, but they never did anything bad to me, and I've used them since they bought Mindspring. That's about ten years now. Time Warner on the other hand, has been nothing but trouble. At least I know who's at fault for my connection problems, and it wasn't Earthlink, it was Time Warner! |

If they can provide a service or price the others can't match then maybe, but since they use others networks they are limited in their attempt to compete with the owner of the network. Tech support? They can only provide tech support for CPE, otherwise they have to turn it over to the network owner. So now you have to deal with tech support from two companies. EL, AOL, Compuserve, I stayed away from all of them.
