Re: Changing light switch to a switch with timer or sensor I got a photocell / motion sensor lights at home depot for pretty cheap. I wired only two units to various exterior lights. It turns on at dusk and programmable to run for X hours. It has a dimmer controlled by the motion sensor. I got tired of timers and having to program. This I setup 5 or 6 years ago and I've never had to think about it. I replaced the timer with a normal switch.
