[Exchange] Help with .IFS files in Mailbox Store folder

I was looking in the folder where the Mailbox Store is found and I noticed there are a large amount of .IFS files in there dating back to 10/30 and going until 12/17. I hadn't noticed them before. What are they and can they be removed? Thanks.

Those are basically Exchange's temp files and should automatically be deleted. If not, you can safely remove them. Made sure you stop the Information Store service first, delete the files (or to be safe, move them somewhere else temporarily) then restart the IS.
