hdtv installation with other components

I'm thinking of getting HDTV on one television in our home. Right now, I have the basic cable coming out of the wall, and going into a signal amplifier box. From this box, one cable output goes to my tv, another to 2 different dvrs. If I had the hdtv cable box, would this setup still work, or would I have to alter the arrangement?

Re: hdtv installation with other components

At least two changes:

1. The HD box is a bidirectional box, so there's a good chance your signal amplifier may not support it. First choice would be to pull the amp, since it's possible everything in your area is digital, and you may no longer need the amp. Otherwise, you may need to replace the amp with a bidirectional one.

2. No Motorola digital cable box provides remodulated stereo output on the RF output. In order to feed stereo to any downstream components, you'd need to use the line outputs to feed your devices input: L/R audio, plus either composite, S, or component video output (whatever you device can handle).
