 AVG7.5 Free Update Manager problems

Went to do the latest AVG Update...BIG list of things.
For some reason nothing would download from the AVG Server...I waited through all 3 servers tried downloading to my pc. Nothing.
Then, a popup from the ControlCenter stated something re...'no internet connection could be found', etc.etc. It continued with AVGINET.EXE - go to their Forums, etc.
I completely uninstalled the entire program, downloaded it again...still the same problem. Uninstalled it again. Did the regedit for everything Grisoft...rebooted, of course.
It won't even update anything at all.
I haven't had any problems before today.
What do I do?
Thanks for any help.
BTW, I don't want anyother Free AV program, just want to use the Grisoft.

I'm using the built-in firewall in Vista Basic and Defender.
Will try your link and see what happens.

  Yup...always has.
In any case, I want to thank you so very much.
I'm all fixed...again!
Have no idea why it started to fubar itself today.
Now, I'm off to eat my supper... Michelina's Sweet & Sour Chicken with Rice!

Hi LadyL .. I've a question, maybe two.

Are you now updating manually or is "automatic" corrected?

Was the chicken and rice good??
