 | Thank you. Centurytel only offers 1.5/256 at this time, but that's better, if I can really get it, than the 1.0/256 I'm currently getting from cebridge/suddenlink. And sudden link throttles your entire connect to 256k/128 up, if you download more that 30 MB in ten minutes. It's frustrating. If my son and I are both online for an hour or two, somewhere in there we're going to break that limit, just my surfing and his gaming.
Two miles from the switch isn't too far? |

Centurytel sells DSL out to around 24k feet with their "extended DSL". At two miles you could get up to 3 meg reliably if they ever upgrade your offices' equipment. |

 | He can get more than 3Meg.I'm at 2.3 miles from CO and getting 6Meg |

 | reply to wepmatic Should I use centurytel's modem, or get my own? If the latter, which one is best? |

Re: I'm thinking of switching to c-tel I ordered centurytel dsl today. Cheap enough now that you no longer have to have the home phone as well. |
|
 | reply to wepmatic I am at 3.1 miles from the co and I am getting a sync rate of 3.5 meg on my line. I am using a 2wire 1800hg gateway.
You might want to go ahead and ask about the 3 meg service anyway. They might have it available and just not show it being offered yet.
Yes you can provide your own modem, just be sure to tell them when you are ordering that you will provide your own equipment. |

 | reply to wepmatic 1.5 is the best they offer in atkins, and from what ive seen, it has been quite a bit better than the cable offered there. |
