I no longer have AT&T DSL service and now have cable. Someone please tell me I can use my 2Wire 2701HG-B to transmit my cable modem signal throughout my home w/o having to buy a new wireless router. |

| The WAN port of the 2Wire is for a phone cord, so it will NOT work as a NAT router for cable.
It might be able to be dumbed down to a switch and wireless access point just using its LAN side, but unless your cablemodem is a modem/router, that would probably not work without another router at the cable modem, with LAN of router connected with crossover cable to LAN side of 2Wire.
But if you are going to need a router anyway, you might as well get a wireless router and be done with it. |
