Re: no activity being received wireless thru my 2wire 1000sw First off, let me just say that whatever Windows says when clicking the "Repair" button I'll ignore as Windows really doesn't give you much information, instead, I pay more attention to what your ipconfig /renew says (which is run via the command prompt).
Also there could be mainly reasons why your having that limited or no connectivity message. The most common reason for getting the limited or no connectivity message is because the network key you typed in is invalid so you might want to check that.
Other reasons includes wireless interference, firewall, or something wrong with the wireless software installed on your computer that won't use the WEP or WPA key.
Make sure you don't have any firewalls running (either disable them or turn it off, but don't uninstall it as it'll cause some issues sometimes)
Try turning off the encryption from within the 2wire wireless settings then try connecting it the unprotected network.
Also make sure there's nothing around the 2wire that could interfere with the wireless.
If all else fails, get a friend's laptop and try connecting to it again.
Most of the time it's an issue with the OS/driver/software on the computer itself and not an issue with the routers. |
