| HT HSI Available in Selected Areas of West Hawaii Now It appears according to »ordering.hawaiiantel.com/ht/dsl/···ype=home
that 7Mbps/11Mbps DSL service is available for the following prefixes here in West Hawaii.
885 329 326 334
Bear in mind you have live 6,000 feet/8,000 feet from the CO/RT to get either speed tier. |
|
 | Thanks for the info... I'll have to give them a call again, as they just contacted me last week and said the higher speeds would not be available in Kamuela for quite a while. |

1 edit | I would input your phone number on the above cited site. I put in some random 885 prefix numbers. One qualified for the 7 and 11Mbps service. The other qualified for 7Mbps service.
Which is better than what I can get. My exchange still hasn't been upgraded yet. |

| I got word today that the 885 prefix has not been upgraded yet.Which is really strange because I tried atleast 5 Kamuela prefix numbers via the online ordering system. They qualified for the 7Mbps/11Mbps service.
Here is the updated list of prefixes upgraded for this new HSI service.
326 327 329 331 334 |

 | Yeah, I put it my number and it did say the 7Mbps was available for my line.
I figured that wasn't accurate since I've gotten a few calls from them apologizing that it is not available for me yet. |

KonaguyLive From Kailua-Kona, HawaiiPremium join:2000-10-21 Kailua Kona, HI | I just got word from HT that the 885 prefix has indeed been upgraded to the 7Mbps/11Mbps service. If you have problems with the CSR's, let me know. |
|
 | Just called them and they said I was eligible for 7Mbps... they are putting the order through and it will take a couple of days. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks! |

KonaguyLive From Kailua-Kona, HawaiiPremium join:2000-10-21 Kailua Kona, HI 1 edit | Thanks for the heads-up.Yeah please let me know how things go with the 7Mbps service. You should be seeing about 4-5Mbps throughput to the mainland. |
|
 | reply to Konaguy Got 11 Mbps in Kamuela,HI
it is 11 Mbps within hawaii however speeds test from San Francisco, CA average around 4-Mbps.
Only a 2Mbps increase from 3 Mbps. |
|
 | Please also note that I was down the entire weekend with an install date of 1/7/2008
Hawaiian tel disconnected me on Friday and switch circuits on Monday. Kind of silly that it's a 2 working day job. |

1 edit | reply to Konaguy Got my 7Mbps today also in Kamuela... was down for about 3 hours.
Around 7.05 down / 1.04 up on the HT speedtest site. And like you said, 4-5 down to the mainland.

Only a 2Mbps increase from 3 Mbps. Did you tweak your settings ? You should be seeing about 6-7 Mbps to the Mainland. Hopefully really soon I'll be getting 11Mbps service. They are in the process of upgrading my exchange. |
