Re: AVG Anti-Virus 7.5 Professional - FREE

I've been using and recommending AVG for several years. No machine I use, nor any machine on which it's installed has ever gotten a virus of any kind.
Most AV comparison sites give it decent grades.
Saying AVG "is the worst out there" is just fanboy crap.

Funny that Eset does so much better in the testing fields than others. I also find it funny that it's Eset's sight. ROFL!
Its an article from a site that tested many different AV products and found AVG to be complete crap.

Just because its on their site doesnt make it not true.

I went to the alternate site and downloaded without any trouble. I think I will wait a few days before I install it. I want to see if there are anymore comments in this thread.

I uploaded the files to rapidshare and megaupload for AVG, it was the same file as on the vnudownload link that seems congested.

Has anyone gotten spy sweeper downloaded? I tried another link but it requires a serial which is not shown.

What's this have to do with the subject?

Not the worst, but FAR from the best. Besides, how would you know if you've ever been infected or not, if the scanner simply isn't detecting it? Ever tried scanning with an online scanner also, or a secondary av?

neat. grabbing the prog from the megaupload link, the original site in the uk keeps timing out. currently using Microsoft's Live Onecare since it came with my laptop... nice to have a fullver of AVG around incase something goes wrong....

Free or paid? If looking for a free anti-virus then probably the best free one is "Avast". It's pretty light and gives you a great deal features when compared to the other free ones. It's very stable and reliable. Very good detection. It updates flawlessly. It also detects spyware. Most of the other free ones don't.

Paid? Well there's been a lot opinions about which one is the best and lightest.

I would suggest the one that has a good balance of lightness and great detection would be "Nod32". I suggest trying version 2.7 and staying away from the recently released version 3.0. It still has some bugs to work out.

Could someone do an alternative download for the SpySweeper giveaway? That link is dead also.
