gregbrendel : FYI, I don't recall installing this firmware but looked and it had been installed on Jan 31. Since then my connection has been very flaky. I'll get random disconnects requiring reboot of the router. Sometimes wireless will go out without wired... and sometimes only the wired will go out. I reverted to my previous one (which is quite old) and it seems to be working fine again. Who knows... Just watch out as the latest doesn't seem to function properly for me. Did Verizon push this out from their end?

Actiontec rebooting on its own

noshooz : I'm not getting a response to this in the Verizon Direct forum, so I'll post it here in hopes of getting an answer:

I had FiOS TV/Internet installed on 12/14. On I believe 12/17 I noticed the wireless download speeds were at or below 1MBps. So I changed the wireless channel setting on the router (Actiontec 624) from "automatic" to channel 6. This gave me the full 15MB download speeds I subscribe to. Soon after that I noticed the router was rebooting on its own every twelve hours precisely at 1:05. The night of 12/24 I changed the wi-fi channel to 10, wondering if that would stop the reset. It didn't reboot at 1am on 12/25 at 1:05, but did this afternoon at 1:05. I'd like to know why this is happening and if there is a fix I can implement on my end to stop it. The only drawback with this is that we lose Internet for a couple of minutes while waiting for the router to finish rebooting.
