1 edit | Cable modem blocking ports?
Recently charter gave me a new scientific Atlantic cable modem. The model is DPC2100R2. After the tech installed it i noticed that the ports i had forwarded by my router were closed. I did a test by connecting the computer directly to the cable modem and still the ports are blocked. Seems this modem blocks ports by default. Anyone know how to get around this? |

It tells me Error! Port 6881 does not appear to be open.
Windows firewall is disabled, and i am directly connected to the modem. |

Spartanburg, SC | Before the new modem i had port 3724 open, its used for world of warcraft. Now its blocked. No change is software. Even port 40000 which i have no idea what its for is blocked. Anyone have any idea. |
