1 edit | NEW! MI424WR FW 4.0.16.1.56.0.10.7 I had called Verizon yesterday calling about a problem with my AcT router, they said a certain batch of ROM files that went out were bad, so they sent me a new FW that is not out yet, they said it was supposed to be posted today, but I guese its not, this is what the message said "This procedure is only to be used with BHR's that constantly reboot and are on the 4.0.16.1.55.0.10.4 or 4.0.16.1.55.0.10.4.3 firmware releases.
Open the file Actiontec BHR Upgrade 10_7.doc for instructions."

 | reply to Bulls729 With some research it make no difference on the version of the router, Thanks for the news, The firmware works, don't notice any difference though.
Any details on what has changed? -- The Maxx max dn 22mbps / max up 4.7mbps |
|
 | Well my router kept rebooting itself all the time and would not connect to Verizon, now it works flawlessly, also as an addendem, I DMZ my AcT. to my AirPort Extreme which connects wirelessly to my 360 and get an open NAT. |
|
1 edit | OK. I just successfully upgraded to the new firmware. Let's see how it goes. Update: 8:00pm -- wi-fi connections are now dropping out and coming back up intermittently. Sigh.. I switched from 'automatic' to a set channel (10). |

|
 | reply to BryanOnRR From what I understand, there is no difference between the new router and the old router from a hardware aspect, its only the case and packaging of the device that has changed. |

All devices that have been assigned IPs are showing up, whether connected or not. Those not connected are shown as "inactive." I guess this is a new "feature" that as added. I wonder if there's a menu item somewhere that will allow to only select active devices. |

KenAF join:2006-01-23 Arlington, VA | Before this update, my Denon receiver was not properly pulling an IP via DHCP unless I actually used its NET functions (Internet radio, etc).
Now the Denon always has an IP and I can connect to it with my computer the moment I turn it on. |

It's been mentioned before, the new units have newer MoCA and wireless chipsets (new units support WPA2, old ones don't).
New firmware's been posted at the usual spot for those who don't feel like downloading from an untrusted source... |

 | reply to Bulls729 This FW is not an "official" release from Actiontec (beta testing). So if it breaks your router sorry. it's being testing in fixing some issues. |
|
 | reply to Bulls729 Yeah, I had problems with static DHCP assignments when I tested this version. The router would lose the static assignments, which would break port forwarding when devices got different IP addresses from what they were supposed to have. Apparently it's still buggy. |

1 edit | reply to Bulls729 Just to verify, so this FW can be used on the older AcT M1424WR?
Mine has FW version 4.0.16.1.55.0.10.4.3 |
|
 | reply to Bulls729 I dl'd it and installed and it works.
When I tried to upgrade from the website using the admin settings, it wouldn't work. Maybe because of those bad ROM files?
Anyway, I don't have the newest Rev C router hooked up and everything seems to be ok for now, FYI |
