This particular fix only pertains to the Moca firmware. It would be of no real benefit to you.
Sorry, my reply was aimed at Kargo27. |

1 edit | reply to Bulls729 I have the newer, revision C Actiontec, and was having no problems with the prev. firmware. I DID however install the newer firmware, and the only difference I'm seeing is that the "Network" column is now showing every LAN machine my network has, whether they are currently connected or not. Before, the only machines showing were those currently active.
Edit a few days later: that must have been a result of lease times or something related, as the network is reporting correctly now. |

| reply to noping said by noping :said by jvanbrecht :From what I understand, there is no difference between the new router and the old router from a hardware aspect, its only the case and packaging of the device that has changed. It's been mentioned before, the new units have newer MoCA and wireless chipsets (new units support WPA2, old ones don't). New firmware's been posted at the usual spot for those who don't feel like downloading from an untrusted source... WPA2 has always been a firmware update on all routers, and I bought 3 OLD Actiontecs and put in the new firmware and WPA2 works on them. the old ones have Broadcom chipsets the new ones have a different one and I forget now the brand. -- no sports watched here, so don't want to pay for it! |

Thanks for posting about this! |

@verizon.net | reply to rhm5757 I had the same problem with the router losing static assignments. I decided to roll back the firmware to the previous version till they resolve the issue. The rollback worked flawlessly. |

| reply to Bulls729 I updated to the new FW and noticed "Bandwidth Monitoring" in the advanced "System Monitoring" area. I don't recall seeing it there before.
My Actiontec Rev. C router started going through a constant reboot cycle that the new FW seems to have corrected. |

2 edits | Looks like the firmware is now rolled out on both the Verizon and ActionTec websites: »www2.verizon.net/micro/actiontec···ntec.asp, »https://upgrade.actiontec.com/MI424WR/MI424WR.rmt
Clean upgrade for me. It kept my custom rules. No WPA2, but didn't have it before.
That bandwidth monitoring looks like it tracks tx/rx data rates over the last 8 hours. Not number of bytes, just the rate in kbps. Wonder how that info gets back to Verizon. |

GeekGirl1 The Medium IS the Message Premium join:2007-01-28 Morrisville, PA | Thanks. Thought there was a hardware mod involved. Router reports Hardware Version "A", just like noping's post above. I assume that means WPA version 1. |

Do you know if there are any plans to have the stupid Nat issue looked at, I am tired of this router freezing up when I go to play counter strike. |
