Her daughter has now bought a laptop running Vista, and AOL advise that she will have to buy a new ethernet modem (BT Voyager 190/NetGear DG834/Thomson SpeedTouch 510) to connect to AOL as the existing USB modem isn't Vista compatible. :hmm:

Do you think my partner has any leverage with AOL to request a free ethernet modem? - it seems a bit harsh to have to buy new hardware just to run a Vista machine! Also, I guess if she was signing up as a new user she would get a free ethernet modem anyway.

Also, does anyone know if the two pcs could use AOL at the same time - with the USB modem and the ethernet modem both connected to the phone line via a splitter?
