Also, the upgrade may take a few minutes, so don't panic and try to interrupt it if it appears frozen for a bit - doing so could turn the router into a doorstop. After the firmware flash is complete, the web page will indicate that the router is rebooting automatically, and after that it's done. |

| reply to brugar I'm torn...I like part of the layout. It's nice to see the computers connected to the router on the main page. A few of the other information boxes are nice...but the clicking through "warning: Any changes made in this section may affect your devices performance and configuration." over and over and over again is annoying.
At least one bug fix I see is in the Qos settings. It now allows you to choose Assured Forwarding, etc w/o defaulting back to Best Effort every time.

 My Network |
It seems to have a problem viewing the network. I have my main desktop connected and a laptop connected via ethernet. It has been assigned ip 192.168.1.43. The Westell is set to assign via DHCP. No machine is assigned a static IP. There are no wireless stations connected. The 2 "unknown" are the same laptop. The first is the MAC of the ethernet card and the 2nd is the MAC of the wireless card, which is disabled. It won't even show the station's name. |

I guess the third MAC address is your Laptop's ethernet card? They were once connected to the modem and not now so it remembers them. What happens if you reboot the modem with the laptop off? |

It is buggy. |

| I can rename the device and did but how come it picks up the computer name from the desktop and not the others? And I double and triple checked all my settings on the laptop and the router and I don''t see how it gets a Static IP instead of DHCP. Oh well. It works even though it hosed the wireless settings. I redid them and all is fine now. Just pisses me off that they release a buggy firmware. I am not the only one having troubles. And to boot, the instruction page was wrong. Glad I retired and am no longer associated with that company. |
