Only those folks who don't want to pay for cable tv or even basic cable 15 channels.
In other words those with rabbit ears or tails will be in trouble.
But FCC will grant them $40.00 coupons to help offset the cost of the converter box.
This is really pointless.

And the FCC is giving away 40 dollar vouchers for poor people to get a converter box that costs less than 50 bucks. from what i hear it may even be less than 40.
Like i said this is just stupid its not the end of the world.
TV is a luxury not a nessisty.
Years ago people didnt have tv and when they did they were lucky to get 1 channel.

beyond even the consumer end of things being disrupted by this change, i can think of at least one Television station offhand (well, two if you count it's sister station downstate) that cannot afford to switch from the analog systems they're using now to the digital systems that are now going to be required to continue broadcasting. if there's two here, i would be willing to bet that there are others in the country. (not that i mind this particular pair of stations going out of buisness, they're craptastic places to work)
What about the people who depend on these stations for jobs as their primary source of income?
moreover, if it really was "stupid" as you say, why bother doing it at all?
if you're attempting to start a flame war, go back to the WoW forums and "stfu n00b" someone instead.
