| AOL was a bad match for Netscape.
Netscape had problems with communicator ... AOL's thinking at the time was to make sure Microsoft's browser didn't take hold and that MSN didn't beat AOL.
Netscape was a better secure product that Microsoft Explorer.
Netscape was more better suited for Sun Micro systems (JAVA).
Netscape still has a big following amongst Sun users in a corporate setting. Most people went to FireFox a long time ago...I have seen the development of Opera come along. I think 3 Browsers in a market is more than enough. |
