| 3 Web experience log
I have read a lots of negative comments about 3 web, but still want to try out. Here is a log of my events.
I tried their 1-800 number. to evaluate their service prior to sign up Sales will answer the phone within minutes. Reps are very nice to speak to. Technical Support -well..no luck to connect.regardless which internet DSL or cable reseller, you will always have problem with Technical support personnel. Billing - no luck as well. Guess what, the sales person also handles billings.
Signed up and provided all info. wait for the Rogers guy to hook up.
Though we have a date set for installation or activation, Rogers guy show up unexpectedly. Ok..everything setup. Modem lights looks ok. Signal is good.
Connect modem sb5101 to my wireless router linksys wrt54gp2.
The info in 3web help page on how to set up router does not work at all. I entered my activation code@3web.com, password etc.
Guess what, I read the D-link router page, it described just set the protocol to automatic assign IP instead of PPEo for Cable modem. MTU could either be on or off.
Voila..it works..4.8 mbits download.
Overall...3web should update their web pages contents more carefully. This would cause less headaches to themselves and users.
3Web is for those people who could diagnose and support themselves. This is not a full service company.
