[Troubles] WebcamXp and widstream

I am trying to run WebcamXP I have an Linksys WRT54G V6 router and an 4200 dsl modem I can't seem to get it to work I have try port forwarding and nat setting. plugged my modem directly into the linksys ports (not the wan port) turned off the linksys dns and that did not seem to work either. any idea something I might be missing?

Thanks
John

try setting up the router to make the pppoe connection and resetting the 4200 to factory defaults

Also if you follow wrequed's advice try port forwarding again from your router.

Chances are that you are double-natting at the moment which simply means that even though if you port forward from one device (your router) your modem still does not send the ports through to your router.

So what you can do is go to 192.168.254.254 (probably) with username/password: admin/admin (probably) and go to port forwarding page and port forward the ports you wish to open to your router (192.158.254.1 probably--it will generally be whatever the default IP is there) and then in your router port-forward to the device you wish to use. Or follow wrequed's advice which will set the modem into bridged mode (making it invisible to the network) and then just port forward to the device from your router (should work)

However please note chances are that your ports will be closed until the program that requires them begins to run and requests to open them. (This was a problem for me--I was just testing to see if my ports were open so I was confused as I kept getting "Closed" when I should have been getting "open" -- when I ran my program that required the ports I got "open" every time! )
