| [speed/latency] Low upload speed
Hello, I've had Verizon's 1.5mbit/384kbit connection for quite a while, recently my upload speeds and connection stability have gone down quite a bit. The speeds I'm connecting at are 1792kbit down and 160kbit up. When I download a file, which my speed ranges between 150KB/s to ~200KB/s, browsing the internet or playing a game online slows down to a crawl. My upload seems to max out at 17KB/s and also makes my internet slow down to a crawl. My ping in game jumps to about 1700ms when I'm normally around 200ms.
I've called Verizon several times but I never get anywhere, they say that my speeds are normal for my connection.
So I guess I'm asking for advice on how to get Verizon to do anything about my upload speed and stability issue, which I believe my upload speed is the reason.
My distance is 15400ft according to Verizon Transceiver Information Down / Up DSL Speed (Kbits/Sec) 1792 160 Margin (dB) 16.5 31.0 Line Attenuation (dB) 37.5 23.0 Transmit Power (dBm) 5.3 11.3 |

a333 A hot cup of integrals please
join:2007-06-12 Rego Park, NY | looks like you are provisioned on the wrong upload speed. instead of 1.5/384, you are on 1.5/128. Post on the Verizon Direct forum with those stats, and tell them to change you to the 384 upload. Happy New Year!! Cheers, a333 |
