 | Transceiver Stats Question -Values that should support 10meg Several months ago, I had 10meg service. I did experience frequent sync losses.
I was finally able to speak with a local CT tech. He explained that since I was on twisted pair copper lines that I should go to 6meg service for reliability and consistent connectivity.
He was right, the 6meg provision rate has been rock solid.
Question for those of you with rock solid 10meg service is what are your Transceiver Stats values and if you are on twisted pair or fiber lines.
Here are my values, what do they need to be to support 10meg?
Transceiver Revision: 5.2.2.0 Vendor ID Code: 4 Line Mode: G.DMT Mode Data Path: Fast Transceiver Information DSL Speed (Kbits/Sec) 7168 608 Margin (dB) 11.0 18.0 Line Attenuation (dB) 33.0 11.5 Transmit Power (dBm) 18.9 12.4 |

| Most areas still having trouble with the 10meg tier need an equipment or software upgrade. I was told from home office that my area (eastern Missouri) should be fixed sometime this spring.... -- Ofallon, Mo Weather , |

If you are getting 6MB, then there isn't much that can be done, especially since anything from 3MB and UP is the same price anyway. I have the 10MB service on copper, I'm about 2,300ft from the CO, and I get a consistent connection of about 10.5MB down and 720K up. The town I'm in has a population of about 10,000; one central office. The 6MB by itself has proven to be a rock solid connection across the board, but things will improve soon enough. |

I doubt if anyone has fiber to their house for data or voice.
Was he speaking of the cabling from the DSLAM onward? In our area we have fiber from the DSLAM (or RO) to the rest of the network. Copper pair from house to DSLAM.

I wouldn't be hopeful of reliable 10Mbps service with a 11dB downstream margin. --
