"Any phone", not quite. The big issue the iPhone solves is the ability to pan and zoom on a full size site quickly and efficiently. It does this with hardware accelerated video and the two-finger touch-screen approach. Only phones that can do something comparable to address those issues can even hope to compare to the iPhones in terms of internet browsing. |

VoIP on the EDGE network I would imagine would be pretty pad due to the speed, etc.
To be able to be on my wireless network and make a call negates the need for me to buy an iPhone. When not on a wireless network I have my Blackberry.
So acually they did something very useful. |
